Hi Andrea,

I assume you are using an Icom id-1.

Icom altered the firmware for the european version of the ID-1 which, unfortunately means that the frequency display on the console doesn't work.

I own a USA version ID-1, its been tested on a the Japanese version and works also. All the testing was done on USA version ID-1s.

To fix this bug I would need a loan of a european ID-1. Icom UK have ignored my requests for this so there is little I can do to fix this.

Could you confirm the firmware version ? On Dstar tv, click RADIO > ID-1 Version .

The software should display a dialog box with the firmware string. If it does not end in (USA) or (JPN) then you have the european version.

John.

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for the information, this is much what I expected. You are using version 02.

From the control command document supplied by Icom, version 00 is Japan, version 01 is USA. There is no mention of version 02, I expect this is Europe.

To fix this I would require a loan of a European Icom ID-1. I will email Icom but I expect they would be unlilkely to temporarily supply one.

Hi Andrea,

I've had a further look at this problem, the ID-1 uses a subset of the Icom CI-V command control set, and, as such should respond to command "03" for frequency read out. This is standard on all Icom radios. D-Star TV on start up sends this command to get the initial frequency reading from the radio and will respond to subsequent "03" commands and update the frequency display on the program , i.e. if you manually change the frequency using the control head or tune the radio using the software.

I've verified this works on several ID-1 s (versions 00 and 01) . I am aware the the European version of the ID-1 was released after the american and japanese versions so It does look very much like Icom altered the firmware for whatever reason.

I'll happily fix this bug as soon as I lay my hands on a european ID-1 !

Hi Andrea,

Icom are trying to source a European ID-1 for me to test with.

Thanks for your patience.
